Important updates you should know

• The Tribunal that hears these matters is now called the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), not the AAT the name change took effect in late 2024 along with a broader overhaul of how reviews are run.
• The standard application fee for most migration review matters is currently AUD 3,727, though it's fee-free for certain bridging visa decisions that led to detention, and for refusals of the subclass 070 Bridging (Removal Pending) visa.
• The Tribunal cannot extend a missed deadline under any circumstances, so confirming your exact time limit the moment you receive a decision letter is critical.
• Applications are lodged online, and you'll receive an automatic confirmation of everything you submit, plus the ability to view your submitted documents at any time.
• Not every visa decision can be reviewed by this Tribunal protection visa decisions, character related cancellations, and certain business visa cancellations follow different pathways, so it's worth confirming which process applies to you.
